Winter Hours Are Coming
Well, I guess, technically, Winter hours are already here! Don't worry, our Adventure Coordinators will be available 7 days a week during business hours, but our Yosemite Basecamp Outfitter at 11892 Ponderosa Lane in downtown Groveland is only open 5 days a week during the Winter Season. Although, we are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Bryant, the Director of Fly Fishing, will be in the shop some of those days. Call us or check Facebook for ad hoc hours.

We are very excited to announce our Basecamp Manager Candidate position with the opportunity to apply for the General Manager Position! We'll be posting this on the world wide web on January 5th, but we want our local community to have first dibs. This is an incredible opportunity for professional, full time, year round employment in Groveland, CA on the doorstep of Yosemite National Park!
The Basecamp Manager Candidate begins with a 6 month training, or "Candidacy Period" working in all departments at the Echo Adventures Yosemite Basecamp including Retail and Information Desk, Rooms and Housekeeping, as well as Adventure Tour/ Rental Reservations and Logistics. This position will also train on all guided adventures for informational purposes as this position does not guide. The training period pays 18.00 an hour with an obligation to sit on the Employee Advisory Council which has mandatory, paid monthly meetings.
Once Candidacy Period is completed, this person will apply to join the cooperative and become a member (owner) within the company. Pay then increases to 22.00 an hour with dividends (profit sharing) and will include the following additional responsibilities:
Seat on the Board of Directors with obligation to attend mandatory, paid quarterly meetings.
Reports to General Manager and Board of Directors and work with them on hiring, marketing and budget decisions.
Working with guide supervisor to establish mutually beneficial relationship between departments.
Working within a set budget to coordinate purchasing and logistics between the different departments.
Helping staff maintain customer service targets with guided adventure, retail, rentals information and rooms.
National Park and National Forest permitting and reporting.
Cash and banking management
New employee hiring, onboarding, training and scheduling
Reservation Managment and Auditing
Employee and community relations including quarterly evaluations, monthly cookouts, parties, or community events.
MOD 3-4 nights per week
A successful candidate will also be mentored by the acting General Manager and CEO with the opportunity to transition into the General Manager position at any point after their initial 6 month Candidacy Period. This managing member position pay 26.00 an hour with dividends and passive income opportunities and the opportunity to stay at the existing Yosemite Basecamp or begin a new Basecamp in another region. The Managing Member General Manager Position requires the candidate to do the following:
Apply to become a managing member by creating a business plan for the Yosemite Basecamp or other Operation including budget, hiring, marketing and growth recommendations that respect the mutually beneficial goals for community, environment, team and guests!
Seat on the Board of Directors with obligation to attend mandatory, paid quarterly meetings.
Work within the Board of Directors to manage approved business plan including:
Manage basic accounting and financial data entry for the operation.
Manage all permits, certifications, licenses required to operate.
Manage Marketing for operation.
Hire and manage supervisors as well as all employees working in supervised departments.
Manage procurement and logistics.
Managing customer service targets.
Managing and developing partnerships.
Work with other managing members to establish relationships and hierarchy between projects.
Develop and manage any additional needs as determined by approved business plan.

How Many Dolla Dolla Bills Does It Take to Build A Trail?
A lot! And Groveland Trailheads has been working hard to raise that money y'all! They received a $20,000 matching grant from Sonora Area Foundation to build the 1.8 mile Gumball trail loop! Even if you have heard of the incredible work Groveland Trailheads is doing in Groveland, you may not be aware that they are working towards a series of adaptive trails has well as focusing on the cultural and historical significance of the land surrounding the trail system, landing Groveland's future mountain bike project in a league of it own. The Pivot to Small Group Adventures in Yosemite National Park!
We read the news and we know our economy is heating up, so we have re-tooled all of our adventures to make them more accessible for, well, everyone! How? By making them less expensive!
Our fly fishing adventures are still private and we still offer private charter options for almost every adventure, but we have opened them as small group adventures for anyone over 8 years old. New Year, New Dog
Last but not least, meet Nova! Echo's first foster pup of 2023 is a 7ish year old Boston Terrier/Pit mix. This sausage roll is around 50ish lbs, but actively trying to get back to a healthy 35lbs or so. She loves cuddles after dinner, sleeping in, going for slow walks, and playing with other dogs! Pictures do not do this little hippopotamus justice, so please schedule some time to play with her!
