How do cancelations work during wildfire, road closures or inclement weather? Please note that really anything is possible in the Sierra Nevada any time of year, so you want to be prepared to change your plans if necessary. We offer two rate options, one with a flexible cancelation policy and we also always encourage our guests to get travel insurance. Regardless of the conditions: Anyone can cancel at anytime based on the cancelation policy they chose. Guests can also convert the entire amount of their trip to a gift card for later use or they can apply for reimbursement We allow all room and recreation reservations to cancel with just a $25.00 fee during wildfire season if the AQI is over 150 the morning of the reservation. Adventures guests will have the option to take another adventure with us in an unaffected area. We follow the same plan if a road is closed, there are forecasted lightning events, or there is a chance for extreme snow or ice throughout the day. Cancelations are decided the morning of the adventure, so we respectfully ask that you please not ask us to determine your trip status days or weeks in advance.

What is the Cancelation Policy? When available, our easy cancelations rate allows you to cancel your room, adventure, rental or package up to 24 hours in advance for just a $25.00 processing fee. Cancelations within 24 hours will be refunded 50% of the listed price. Non-Refundable Rate: Cancelations made at least 3 days before scheduled adventure will be refunded 50% of the excursion price. Guests cancelling within 72 hours of scheduled adventure and no shows will not be refunded. Adventure Add-Ons: Full refund on any cancellations 24 hours in advance of excursion start time. Cancellations within 24 hours will be handled on a case by case basis. Whitewater Rafting, Backpacking, and Multi-Day Adventure Packages: If canceled at least 30 days before the scheduled adventure, the deposit will be refunded less a 100.00 processing fee. If canceled less than 30 days before scheduled adventure then the deposit will be forfeited. If a package is canceled the same day or during vacation, no refund will be issued. Exceptions: You will not be charged a cancellation fee if your trip is cancelled by Echo Adventure Cooperative. You can reschedule your adventure or convert your balance into a gift card free of charge if done within 72 hours of your adventure start time. Your Adventure Coordinator will always work with Member-Guides as well as lodging & recreation partners to provide the largest possible refund based on your circumstances; however, we are rarely able to secure a larger refund than is stated in our cancelation policy. Yelling, disrespecting or threatening your Adventure Coordinator will not result in a larger refund, so we HIGHLY recommend purchasing the easy cancelations rate, buying traveler's insurance, or using a credit card with travel protection to help take the pressure off.

What is the Fly Fishing Questionnaire and why do you need all that information?Ugg, we know! All of the information requested is required to purchase your fishing license through the State of California, including your eye and hair color! Because the information is a little personal and can feel a bit excessive, we collect it through FareHarbor, our secure and encrypted booking platform, to makes sure that the data passing between a web server and your internet browser remains private. You are always welcome to purchase your own fishing license at https://www.ca.wildlifelicense.com/InternetSales/

Can we keep the fish we catch on your fly fishing trips? All of Echo's fly fishing trips are catch and release only, so we do not keep any fish. We promise fly fishing adventures are even more fullfilling when you get to sustainably return your beautiful trout back into their river or lake habitat!

What is Echo Adventure Cooperative, Inc and how is it different from other guiding agencies?"Echo is a collective board worker cooperative corporation that provides at-cost services for member benefit! Ummm, what!?! Okay, let's do it this way... Echo Adventure Cooperative, Inc. is owned by its employees - we call ourselves members. Every member is a board member, directly contributing to the decision making of the Corporation. Every member is in charge of their offerings, schedule and availability. The Corporation does not generate a profit, and its only goal is to make sure that the members, guests, community and environment are well cared for! So yeah, other than that, and our rigorous social and environmental standards, we are the same as a traditional guiding service.
-
What is Echo's Mission Statement? The members of Echo Adventure Cooperative, Inc are committed to providing a wide variety of educational, sustainable and enjoyable outdoor excursions and adventure travel through our innovative collective board worker cooperative. The Cooperative seeks to create change within the outdoor adventure industry by: Offering exceptional guest experiences. Replacing the traditional model of guide exploitation with guide ownership and empowerment. Maintaining high environmental standards. Participating in community service and outreach.

What's with the name "Echo"?"We are named for the Echo Peaks, which are a family of peaks at the heart of the Cathedral Range in Yosemite. The founders of Echo CoOp have all come from various backgrounds, and all have found a new family with each other here, in the Sierra. Much of that time has been spent as long days in the alpine in and around the echo peaks. You could say they are the center of our universe. The joy brought to us by the Echo Peaks, and Yosemite as a whole is something we want to share with everyone. We also love the idea that the goodness we generate will echo through our community and industry creating a more sustainable world.
